Advocacy, Residents and access

There is a clear sense from people that Council is removed from daily realities in the City. People feel that senior local government representatives are out of touch and that they represent a minority of residents and their interests.

Angela Vithoulkas and the Sydney Matters team put forward a plan to transform the way that local government consults with the community. We will take an innovative approach to information management to ensure that local residents and businesses can access services on their own terms using the best technology available today.

Local people need more insight into the way that decisions are made and the reasons why proposals are shelved or vetoed. They need more opportunities to share their experience, complaints and ideas.

Angela Vithoulkas champions an open and collaborative approach, extending to the way that the City Council interacts with other levels of Government.
