Councillors are often provided less than 48 hours to review and comment on City of Sydney draft submissions, for example, an email time-stamped 5.44pm, 29 July 2015, subject CEO Update – Submission – National Program for Excellence in the Arts – Draft Guidelines Consultation requested comments back by close of business 30 July 2015 because the due date for lodgement of submissions was 5pm, Friday 31 July 2015. Why is there such a limited timeframe for comment?
Answer by the Lord Mayor
Submissions are completed and provided to Councillors as soon as possible. City staff are producing a particularly high volume of submissions at present, often to very tight deadlines. The City can request additional time to provide a final submission if Councillors have feedback which is usually granted.
