It’s often said that two hands are better than one, and when they work together harmoniously that statement rings true in business.
Renee Lodens, founder of the international online curated fashion guide business Travelshopa, knows just how beneficial collaboration can be. Appearing on The Brew with Angela Vithoulkas podcast recently, Renee divulged her tips for successful teamwork.
Travelshopa showcases many up and coming fashion labels on its site, putting them in the spotlight to be recognised on a larger scale. While it may seem to be a one sided affair from the outside, Renee says that her business gets just as much out of featuring these labels on the site as the brand do themselves: “It’s a two way street … the better they get, the better we get.” Her appraisal is proven correct constantly: whenever brands promoted on Travelshopa grow bigger, the credit falls back to her website and in turn generates more business.
Her open approach to collaborating has seen Travelshopa partner with MasterCard to create priceless experiences, as well as working with PayPal and Clefs D’or. Each partnership has helped Travelshopa to springboard to the next stage, leading to interviews with BBC News, Harpers Bazaar Malaysia and SkyNews Business, elevating its standing as a global force.
Renee’s main tip for making joint efforts as efficient as possible is flexibility. Given she has staff across the globe working for her, she needs her team to be willing to manage themselves and take ownership of their own processes. Hiring likeminded people is essential, Renee says, as it allows everyone to work together on the same page.
It’s not only cultivating business relationships that Renee holds important, though; working efficiently with those around you is absolutely paramount for the success of any business. She stresses the need to surround yourself with the right kind of supporters, those that understand and uplift your goals and the work you put in. Renee credits her husband, friends, customers, readers, and everybody who has shaped the person she’s become over the years.
