Angela Vithoulkas has a long and proud history as a small business advocate, commentator and advisor.
As CEO of the VIVO Café Group, located in Sydney’s CBD, she has been instrumental in giving many small business owners a voice through the successful SME online radio platform which she founded and operates from a purpose-built studio located within the café.
In 2012 Angela was elected as an independent Councillor for the City of Sydney where she was subsequently appointed as Deputy Chairperson of the City of Sydney Economic Development and Business Sub-committee throughout that term.
In 2016 Angela formed the Sydney Matters Independent team and successfully secured a second term on Council at the September 2016 local government election.
As an independent elected representative, Angela advocates for the interests of residents, businesses and start-ups to Council, proposing many initiatives that benefit the whole community.
She is passionate about ensuring that Sydney becomes a ‘smart city’ and has sound links with Sydney’s vibrant startup community.
Angela is an engaging public speaker and commentator who is regularly sought out by industry and the media with appearances on the Nine Network, the ABC and Sky News.
Acknowledgement of her success over the years is reflected through her many awards which include 2005 City of Sydney business of the year, 2005 City of Sydney Cafe of the year, 2006 NSW entrepreneur of the year and the 2007 Telstra Women’s business owner of the year. In 2015 she was also named as one of Australia’s 50 Influential Women Entrepreneurs.
With 30 years of small business experience and an in-depth knowledge of government she is in a unique position to both lead and advocate for the small business community and to comment and advise with insight, humour and understanding.
