Alcohol Free zones have been established to help reduce alcohol-related violence as part of an effort to keep our streets safe for the benefit of residents and visitors. Darlinghurst Road Kings Cross is a declared alcohol free zone.
In the centre of Darlinghurst Road, there is a sign affixed to a smart pole stating
“ALCOHOL FREE ZONE Consumption of alcohol is prohibited from 15/11/2008 to 14/11/2011”.
This sign is misleading and inaccurate, nearly three years out of date. What audit measures does Council have in place to regularly inspect and renew/replace signage that has been placed in the public interest?
